八一建军节前夕，中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平主持中共中央政治局第十六次集体学习，强调凝心聚力实施改革强军战略，把新时代强军事业不断推向前进。

President Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, has stressed concentrating efforts to implement the strategy of strengthening the military through reform to advance the cause of building a strong military in the new era. Xi made the remarks while presiding over a group study session of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau held ahead of China's Army Day on August 1.
